Belt of Venus is the name of a visual phenomenon that creates pink bands of color in the sky at sunrise and sunset. In this pullover reminiscent of the effect, four tonal shades are artfully blended with Sable stitch. The sweater is worked from the top down with continuous set-in sleeves.

This pullover is worked from the top down. The two back shoulders are worked separately back and forth, then the shoulders are joined while casting on stitches for the neck. The front shoulders are worked separately back and forth. The upper body is worked back and forth, beginning and ending at the center of the front, while at the same time the sleeve caps are worked to create a set-in sleeve look using contiguous sleeves. When the front neck shaping is complete, the body and sleeves are worked in the round to the underarm. The sleeve stitches are put on holders and the body is worked in the round to the lower edge. The sleeves are worked in the round to the cuff.
