Bendy Ballerina (no wire required!)
I love to design toys with interactive elements for children. This Bendy Ballerina doll can be moved into various poses, just like a real Ballerina! The limbs are designed to be flexible, so you don’t need to include wire in order for your doll to strike a pose. Incorporating a thread of sparkly yarn gives her dress a glittery effect.
Bendy Ballerina is made in the round. Experience making amigurumi is helpful, but not essential. If you have made amigurumi before, I am confident that you will be able to complete this pattern. Photos are included for extra support. For the most part, Bendy Ballerina is made seamlessly, so the only part you’ll need to sew on will be her hair.
Any yarn weight should work for this project. I used a selection of colours from Yarn and Colors Super Charming range, which is a light-bulky weight 5 yarn (75m/50g). Made in this yarn, my Bendy Ballerina measures 30cm/12in high. The photographed sample is made using the following colors: Pearl (043), Brunette, (027), Antique pink (048), and Yarn and Colors Glamour in the colour Rosé (101). Yarn and Colors charming would also work beautifully. Using these yarns and a 4mm hook, my ballerina stands approximately 33cm tall.
I like the strong and muscular appearance that the bendy limbs give the ballerina, however if you prefer to make your doll without bendy limbs, instructions are included which detail how you can achieve this.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns about the pattern and I will do my best to help out. I would love to see photos of pieces you’ve created using this pattern!
You are welcome to sell finished items made from my patterns, and it would make my day if you credit me as the designer. Do not sell, reproduce, or distribute any of the content included in this pattern for commercial purposes.
