Notes:
Benevolence was designed with Teal Torch Knits Whirlwind Fauxmance advent set. The set includes 14 colors and 13 of them were used in Benevolence. Each mini skein is 20g or 97 yards.
Skill level is advanced beginner.
Sizes include and follow S/M, M/L. Pick the size you want based off the measurements given above. The S/M fits close to your neck meant to block wind chill and to snuggle up in. The M/L fits looser and will lay more on your chest.
This cowl design is made top down and worked in the round. We will start with a 3.5 mm hook for the neck ribbing. Then we will switch to our 4 mm hook or our gauge hook.
Tips on picking minis. This cowl uses 13 colors but what about if you would like to make your length longer. If you are wanting it to blend, make sure 13 transitions smoothly into your 2nd color.
Tips on adjusting length if using the Whirlwind Fauxmance advent. We start with Day14 – Day2. After Day2 and since it is a solid color, skip Day14 and start with Day13 for a smooth color transition since it is a speckled colorway.
Tips on adjusting the circumference. The fan detail in the main body of our cowl uses a 12-stitch and a 4-row repeat. Our neck ribbing uses a 6-stitch repeat. In our initial foundation row, if you would like to make it wider you can add/subtract multiples of 12.
