Bering
Bering is a wide cabled wrap with a companion hat inspired by a winter walk in the woods. A close up of a knot found in an old tree is juxtaposed with group of young saplings reaching toward the sky in the distance. A large, bold medallion cable representing the old knot is placed amid a group of long, lean cables.
The wrap is worked flat in one piece lengthwise. The hat is knit in the round from the bottom up.
Both hat and wrap are worked from charts.
Finished Measurement:
Wrap: 14.5”/37cm x 75” / 109.5cm
Hat: 18”/45.5” circumference x 8”/20.5cm high
Suggested Yarn:
8 skeins of Skacel’s Kenzie by Hikoo for the wrap.
1 skein of Skacel’s Kenzie by Hikoo for the hat.
The hat and wrap used nearly all of 9 skeins for the two projects, with no additional yardage left for swatching. You may wish to purchase an additional skein to ensure there is enough yarn to complete the project.
