Bert the Capybara Bee is an adorable little toy dressed in his favourite costume, a buzzy bee!

This pattern is an easy design and uses US terminology.

Your tension, yarn thickness and hook size used will affect the size of your finished item. My Bert is approx. 13cm tall.

You will need:

• 2.5mm hook/C-2
• 8ply yarns/DK or Light Worsted > 25g of TAN and YELLOW, less for BROWN, BLACK and BLUE
• BLACK and WHITE embroidery thread
• A pair of 8mm safety eyes
• Scissors
• Tapestry needle
• Polyester toy stuffing
• Stitch marker (optional)

Notes:

• Amigurumi is usually worked in the round and a yarn with no stretch is best.
• Generally, the hook you use for amigurumi will be a smaller than for other crochet as you want the stitches tight.
• I’ve used the following yarn: o TAN = Ricorumi DK colour 053 Caramel o BROWN = Ricorumi Nilli Nilli colour 024 Chocolate* o BLACK = Ricorumi DK colour 060 Black o YELLOW = Ricorumi DK colour 006 Yellow o BLUE = Ricorumi DK colour 039 Turquoise You may use any DK yarn (including plush), for Ricorumi DK I recommend 073 Wood
