Bertana Cardigan is a study in lightness and texture, designed to showcase the beauty of lace in garment form. Worked seamlessly from the top down, this relaxed V-neck cardigan features striking geometric lace panels across the front and back, contrasted with simple stockinette at the shoulders and sleeves.

For the sample I used Miss Babs Laurel Falls (100% Superwash Shaniko Merino Wool; 300 yards/275 m in 3.5 oz/100 g), Mustard Seed: 4 (4, 4, 5, 5, 5), {6, 6, 7, 7} skeins.

Needles
Sizes US 4/3.5 mm: 24-32”/60-80 cm circular.
Size US 3/3.25 mm: 24-32”/60-80 cm circular and set of double-pointed.
Optional: second US 3/3.25 mm 24-32”/60-80 cm circular for the Tubular Bind Off.
Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain gauge.

Notions
Stitch markers, waste yarn, tapestry needle, 7 (7, 7, 7, 6, 6), {6, 6, 6, 6} buttons 5/8”/15 mm in diameter.

Gauge
23 stitches and 32 rows = 4”/10 cm in Stockinette Stitch on size US 4/3.5 mm needle, after blocking.
21 stitches and 32 rows = 4”/10 cm in charted pattern on size US 4/3.5 mm needle, after blocking.

Notes
This cardigan is worked from the top down in one piece. The back and the fronts are worked separately down to the armholes and then joined.
Stitches for sleeves are picked up around the armholes and sleeves are worked in the round from the top down.
