This rectangular buttoned cozy is embellished with an oversized, lopsided cable around the middle and a garter stitch border. Though originally designed for a cylindrical teapot with a high spout, the shape is perfect for a French press.

MATERIALS
Approximately 46 m/50 yards worsted weight yarn
Shown in Spud & Chloe Sweater (55% Wool, 45% Cotton; 160 yards/100 g) in the Grape Jelly colourway

Three 18 mm (23/32”) buttons

NEEDLES
One 5 mm/US 8 circular needle* or set of straight needles (or size needed to obtain gauge)
Cable length is not terribly important as this project is knit flat.

GAUGE
16 stitches & 20 rows = 10 cm/4” in stockinette stitch, after blocking

SIZE
One size; sample shown on a teapot with a circumference of 30.5 cm/12” with 2.5 cm/1” negative ease
