Beryllium Shawl
This pattern will be 25% off with code “giftalong2024” from Thursday, 11/21 at 5 pm EST to Wednesday, 11/27 at 11:59 pm EST.
Designed for Marianated Yarns’ Knitmas 2018 Kits, the Beryllium Shawl begins with just two stitches and increases into an asymmetrical triangle shape. Slip-stitch patterning is used for eye-catching stripes of color, as shown here in a gorgeous new interstellar gradient, Galaxy Quest (hence the pattern title—we’re both fans of the iconic 1999 movie). The patterning is easy enough for an adventurous beginner, yet still engaging and fun for a more experienced knitter.
Never give up, never surrender!
This pattern contains both fully charted and written instructions.
Recommended Yarn:
Marianated Yarns Scrumptious HT, one full skein — 80% superwash merino / 10% cashmere / 10% nylon — 400 yds (366 m) to 100 g. Shown in colorway Drizzly Day.
Marianated Yarns Marianette Gradient Set, one set — 80% superwash merino / 10% cashmere / 10% nylon — 240 yds (219 m) to 60 g (six 10 g mini-skeins). Shown in colorway Galaxy Quest.
Total combined yardage is approximately 640 yds (585 m).
Sizing:
41” (104 cm) along right edge, 32” (81 cm) across top edge, 54” (137 cm) along increase edge. As pattern is designed to use all of Main Color (MC), finished measurements may vary slightly.
Gauge:
22 sts and 30 rows to 4” (10 cm) in stockinette st and 22 sts and 40 rows to 4” (10 cm) in slip-stitch pattern, strongly blocked.
PLEASE NOTE: Pattern is not dependent on gauge, but changes in gauge will affect finished size, look of patterning, and amount of yarn used. To meet dimensions and to ensure enough yarn, be certain to use needle size that gives gauge.
Needles:
US 5 (3.75 mm) circular needle, 24” or longer.
Other Materials:
One stitch marker (optional), tapestry needle.
