The second design in the collection inspired by Bessie Coleman. Since she traveled to France to receive her pilot’s license (and most of her photos show her in some sort of hat), I thought a lace beret was just the thing. This version is all one piece, with the broomstick lace band worked at the end. Buttons add a touch of whimsy, but you should feel free to adorn your beret in whatever way suits you.
