Bessy's Florida Dream Scarf
In the most basic variation of what is
commonly called Feather and Fan today,
all of the decreases and yarn overs are
worked on the same row—with one
decrease to correspond with each yarn over,
so the number of stitches in each row stays
the same. In many other versions, the yarn
overs are worked first, increasing the to-
tal number of stitches, with the decreases
worked on later rows to bring the stitch
count back to the original number. In this
version, some decreases are worked on rows
1 and 3, and the final decreases are worked
on row 5 where the yarn overs that corre-
spond to all of the decreases in the pattern
are completed on a single row.
