This cowl is knit in one long piece working back and forth. The short button end wraps around to attach to the long side to create a flattering ‘V’ neckline. The stitch pattern is a modified 5x5 rib, allowing the garment to gather neatly around the back of the neck and flare outward to show off its stunning cable detailing in the front. The termination of the cowl flares ever so slightly to assist in opening up the detail work.

The button band is then picked up from one edge, with instructions to appropriately space the button holes.

Pattern is written for one size, but instructions are given to help modify the garment as desired.

The project requires 1 1/2 skeins of the prescribed yarn and eight (8) buttons. Sample project uses 3/4” diameter wood-turned buttons.
