Experience Level: Advanced Beginner who is willing to read a chart
Bundle your baby up in the Big Apple Baby Blanket. Knit and purl stitches create a soft, textural NYC skyline in chunky weight yarn. This blanket was designed for Jake – the son of a friend who’s an architect in Manhattan. Every time I see the family, they remind me of how much they treasure this blanket.
The Big Apple Baby Blanket is an Advanced Beginner knit and uses basic knit and purl stitches as well as the Crochet Cast On. The pattern is only available as a chart, but video tutorials for reading charts and working the Crochet Cast On are included.
Construction Details
The Big Apple Baby Blanket is worked flat in one piece from the bottom towards the top. Stitches are cast on using the Crochet Cast On. To keep the edges smooth, the first stitch of every row is worked through the back loop and the last stitch of every row is slipped purlwise with yarn in front.
