The Bird of Passage Top is a versatile piece, equally perfect for Sunday picnics and fancy nights on the town. A vine lace pattern twists its way up the sides, a subtle detail that elevates the whole top. It’s worked in the round from the hem to the underarms, then the front and back are worked separately back and forth.

Yarn Rowan Yarns Summerlite 4ply (100% cotton; 191 yd 175 m/ 1 ¾ oz 50 g): #428 High Tide, 4 (5, 6, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 10) skeins.
Needles Size 3 (3.25 mm): 24–40” circular (cir), depending on size you are making. Sizes 1 (2.25 mm) and 2 (2.75 mm): 16” cir. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions Markers (m); stitch holder; tapestry needle.
Gauge 27 sts and 34 rnds = 4” in St st on largest needle.
