Birkelunden puff
Birkelunden puff tee is a simple summer t-shirt. It is knit top down and has a rolled collar, a decorative stranded colorwork around the neckline, short rows in the back, a modified raglan and a small puff on the shoulders that gives an elegant look. The design is cropped and will look great with skirts, high waisted pants or over a summer dress. The length of the body and sleeves is easily adjustable.
Sizing:
S (M) L (XL) 2XL
I know this is very limited sizing, and I am working on it. I have tried to make both smaller and bigger sizes, but the puffed shoulder is a challenge, and they did not meet my standards, so far. Luckily the regular Birkelunden has a size range of XS-5XL and can be found on Ravelry by searching for Birkelunden
Measurements:
Breast circumfrence: (92) 102 (111) 120 (131) cm/ 36 (40) 44 (47) 51.5 inches
Upper arm circumfrence: 33 (37) 40 (45) 50 cm/ 13 (14.5) 15.5 (17.5) 19.5 inches
Testers found the fit is best when choosing a size as close as possible to your own chest measurement. The tee will also get wider with use.
Gauge:
19 sts x 26 rows on 10x10 cm/4 inches inches after blocking. This will usually mean 20 sts on 10 cm/4 inches while knitting.
Yarn:
Line from Sandnes Garn (- 110 m on 50g
Other yarn recommendations: Rauma Pelini, Jarbo Lin or other yarn with linen. The linen has little stretch and will keep the neck line in place. If you choose a cotton or wool blend you might have to add an elastic in the collar after some wear.
Needle suggestion:
3 mm (2.5 US) og 4 mm (6 US)
Make a swatch, block it and measure it before you start knitting. This is very important to ensure a good fit, especially if you knit with a different type of yarn. With a 100% linen yarn, some need to go down two full needle sizes to hit gauge.
Yarn quantity:
Main color: 250 (300) 350 (350) 400 g.
Contrast color: 50 g for all sizes.
If you shorten/legthen body or sleeves or knit with another yarn or gauge you might need more/less yarn.
You will also need:
Stitch markers, stitch holder (waste yarn),
measuring tape and a needle to weave in ends.
Buying this pattern you will also get access to files for the sister pattern, Birkelunden. A simple tee with a decorative colorwork on the collar. Going from sizes XS-5XL
