Instead of focusing and dreaded my big 50th birthday, I realized that this is actually an amazing time because of all of you. Monsterknits started with an idea that turned into If One can, Toucan and along with your support and kind words has grown into an outlet for my creativity.

Birthday Bash is for all of you who have been so helpful and encouraging!! For those of you who have cheered me on from the beginning and also for those of you who are just finding me now! Enjoy!!!

Birthday Bash is knit sideways only working with one color at a time. Using slipped stitches to showcase the sprinkles of color, this shawl gradually blends downward to a honeycomb icing border.

Materials
Yarn: Baah La Jolla (100% Superwash Merino 400yards/115grams)
Main Color (MC) - La Perla
Color 1 (C1) - May ‘18

Needles: US4/3.5mm 32” circular needles & US 7/4.5mm for bind off.

Notions: Cable needle, Tapestry needle, T-pins and blocking wires for blocking.

Gauge: 21 stitches = 4 inches in stockinette stitch after blocking. Although gauge is not crucial for this project, it will affect the finished size and yarn requirements. A looser gauge will result in the use of more yarn.

Finished size: 65” wingspan x 31” deep after blocking.
