Birthday Tee is a raglan crop top worked seamlessly in the round from the top down.

To make this tee you’ll need 3 different yarns, the main one is the base of the tee, a contrasting color separates all the different sections of the tee and the third one decorates the sleeves, neck and hem. For the third yarn choose a boucle or textured yarn in a different color than the previous two.

Birthday Tee is my first design for 2024. As is tradition, every year I create a shirt for my birthday; this time, I drew inspiration from vintage cakes decorated with cream, cherries, and filled with fruit sauces. The sleeves of this shirt represent the inner part of the cake, while the outer part is reflected on the torso.

Construction
It begins at the neck with boucle yarn, then working twisted 1x1 rib stitch in the main color, German short rows are used to lift the back slightly; the neckline is finished with a horizontal i-cord in the contrasting color.

The sleeves are worked in lace stitch decorated with a ruffle made with the boucle yarn.

The body is worked in stockinette stitch and is separated from the sleeves by intarsia cables worked in a contrasting color; this cables are decorated with bobbles worked in the main color.

The body continues in stockinette stitch and intarsia cables until the desired length is reached, finishing with horizontal i-cord, a ruffle and twisted 1x1 rib stitch.

Gauge
26 sts x 36 rounds = 10 cm / 4″, over stockinette stitch worked in the round on 3 mm / US 2 ½ needles, measured after blocking.

Needles + Hooks

• 3 mm // US 2 1/2 circular needles; 50 cm / 20″, 80 cm / 32″, and 100 cm / 40″ length.
• 2.5 mm // US 1 1/2 circular needles; 50 cm / 20″ and 100 cm / 40″ length.
• 2.25 mm // US B-1 crochet hook, or any crochet hook smaller than your main needle.

Always use a needle size that will result in the correct gauge after blocking.

Detalles
Birthday Tee es un crop top raglan con poca holgura y de manga corta, se teje desde arriba hacia abajo en redondo sin costuras.

Usarás 3 colores diferentes; el color principal se utiliza como base; un color contrastante se utiliza para separar cada sección de esta polera (cuello, mangas, torso y pretina); y un hilado boucle o texturizado se utiliza para decorar.

Cada año diseño una polera para mi cumpleaños, esta vez me quise inspirar en tortas vintage decoradas con crema, cerezas y rellenas de salsas frutales. Las mangas de esta polera representan las capas de la torta, mientras que la parte exterior es reflejada en el torso.

Construcción
Se comienza por el cuello con hilado boucle, luego se utiliza el color principal para tejer punto elástico retorcido 1x1 y se eleva la espalda con vueltas cortas alemanas; se termina el cuello con I-cord horizontal en color contrastante.

Las mangas se tejen en punto encaje y son decoradas con el hilado boucle en relieve; se tejen algunas vueltas de forma plana y se doblan para generar el efecto en relieve.

El cuerpo se teje en punto jersey y se separa de las mangas por trenzas de intarsia tejidas en color contrastante, decoradas con burbujas en color principal.

Se termina el cuerpo con I-cord horizontal, luego el mismo punto en relieve de las mangas y punto elástico retorcido 1x1.

Muestra
26 pts y 36 vts = 10cm, tejido en punto jersey en redondo con palillo de grosor 3mm, medido después de bloquear.

Palillos y crochet

• Palillo de grosor 3mm, cable de 50cm, 80cm y 100cm.
• Palillo de grosor 2.5mm, cable de 50cm y 100cm.
• Crochet de grosor 2.25 o cualquier grosor más pequeño que el palillo con que obtuviste tu muestra.

Utiliza siempre el grosor de palillo necesario para obtener la muestra.
