Black Forest is a unique community just north of Colorado Springs. It is a picturesque area with beautiful, tall fir trees. Numerous houses and businesses are tucked in the beautiful setting. On June 11, 2013 a wildfire broke out and raged out of control for a few days. It destroyed over 500 homes, several businesses; acres of the tall fir trees and sadly, two people lost their lives.

Thanks to the efforts of brave firefighters over 2,000 structures were saved and along with them Table Rock Llamas Fiber Arts Studio. The yarn used for the model scarf was purchased at Table Rock Llamas after it reopened. All the proceeds from the sale of this pattern will go to the Black Forest Fire Department to help replace equipment this volunteer group of firefighters lost in the fire If you live in the Colorado Springs area, you can purchase the pattern directly from Table Rock Llamas Fiber Arts Studio.

It has been 2 years since the Black Forest Fire occurred. I want to thank all who purchased this pattern, either through Ravelry or at TRL yarn shop. As of June 2015, the proceeds will no longer be donated to the Black Forest Fire Department.

This is an easy to knit infinity scarf, long enough to wrap around your neck, wide enough to cover your head as a hood, if desired. It is a quick knit using an easy lace pattern and an easy texture pattern. It only uses 1 skein of the specified yarn or approx 410 yards of fingering weight yarn.

7-21-13: A mistake in the written directions (only) was noted by a knitter. Round 1 of pattern B should read k3, k2tog, yo, k1, yo, ssk, k3. Corrected versions have been mailed to all who purchased the pattern and only the corrected version is now available.
