Black-Tailed Jackrabbit
This graceful creature isn’t really a rabbit, but a hare, because its young are born with fur and their eyes wide open.
As with most of the patterns in this book, Black-Tailed Jackrabbit is worked both flat and in the round. The head is worked separately and seamed onto the neck opening when done.
A tiny bit of intarsia adds adorable detail to the tail. Finished jackrabbit stands about 12” tall and 5” wide.
Learn more about this wonderful animal and 24 others when you read the pages of a naturalist as she travels the world, documenting the animals she sees, and designing knitting patterns for each one. This book was a collaboration with my children who did the artwork.
