Blanket for Lainey
CONSTRUCTION
This small blanket, or hap shawl, is worked from the centre out in fingering-weight superwash wool yarn. It begins with a mitred square worked flat, then stitches are picked up around the edges of the square to work in the round. The blanket is increased at four points, similar to a raglan yoke, to its final size. Stitch patterns include garter, stockinette, stranded colourwork, slipped stitches, bobbles and lace, making it an interesting, albeit long-term, project to work.
