Craft a cozy, warm embrace for your little one with our Crochet Block Stitch Baby Blanket, featuring the charming block stitch in bulky yarn for added softness and warmth.

I really love this variation of the crochet block stitch with it’s front post double crochet texture. It’s a simple two row repeat and I knew it would make an amazing blanket – and it did!

The yarn I chose for this pattern is Lion Brand Scarfie, which is a bulky (category #5) yarn that has amazing color changes. I also used it for the Diamond Stitch Blanket and it’s been amazing.

Feel free to substitute any bulky yarn that you like. Since this is a blanket pattern it won’t matter if you get exact gauge with your yarn – it should still turn out a decent size for a baby blanket, unless you go with a thinner gauge yarn such as DK or worsted weight.
