I call this is a “Faroese-ish” shawl because it has the traditional Faroese-style lace panel down the center back. This panel allows you to block the shawl so the shoulders are “shaped” without having to do any special stitch work to shape them.

The center lace panel and the border are actually the same lace pattern! In the center panel, it reminds me of winged fairies or angels standing all in a row, while along the border, I see romantic arches and teardrops in the lace. The picot bind-off is not hard and makes the points of the lace even prettier.
