This pattern is featured in the book Knit a Little by Marie Greene.

If you’re looking for a quick foray into colorwork, I have just the thing for you. Boathouse offers an easy canvas for color exploration; just enough to keep things interesting, without being fiddly. The little colorwork “buoys” will shine in bright contrasts, subtle gradients and everything in between.

Even if you’re a colorwork regular, pay special attention to your floats to keep them loose and even on the back side; your colorwork gauge should be the same as your stockinette stitch gauge.
