A classic, cabled and easy to knit scarf with a bit of a twist!

It’s a scarf that is completely reversible - one side is CABLED and the other side is FABRIC! Or QUILTED!

The design is simple enough to finish knitting the scarf in less than a week - easy to memorize the pattern and fun as well. It’s a project you can easily take with you to knitting group and not have to worry about making a mistake. The cables are very simple, so no chart is necessary.

This scarf is completely unisex and can be personalized for the receiver by choosing the most appropriate yarn color and fiber, as well as the fabric color and material.

To make the larger scarf, use a larger needle (I used a size US 7) and you’ll need about 30 extra yards…250 total. This adds about an inch to the width and 10 inches to the length, after blocking.

I recommend reading the pattern very carefully first and also picking out a fabric (or fabrics) that you’ve tried wearing against the delicate skin of your neck before buying/cutting. Quilting cotton works okay, but I also recommend a thin, cotton flannel or something sheer and without much fuzz or hairiness (like mohair, angora, etc.)

I would love to see some of your scarves - PM (SleepyEyes) when you’ve finished! : D

NOTE: The beautiful model in the photos is Heather Spellman (aka Sereknity Yarn and Fiber). Thanks, Heather!
