Bogolanfini Pullover
Pattern description from Folk Style: “Fiona Ellis took the color palette and patterning inspired by African textiles and crossed them with the traditional Northern European knitting technique of Fair Isle or stranded knitting. The colored patterns used on the body alternate between very traditional Fair Isle motifs and those derived from African mud-resist printed cloths. The textured repeat used for the sleeves and yoke directly mirrors graphic African patterns. The African influence is further referenced in the choice of zebra-like patterned buttons at the keyhole neckline”
Finished Size: 35.5 (39, 42.5, 46.5, 50)“ (90 99, 108, 118, 127 cm) bust/chest circumference.
Notions: Stitch holders; tapestry needle; two 7/8” (2.2 cm) buttons.
Additional Gauge: 24 stitches and 32 rows = 4” (10 cm) in textured pattern on smallest needles; 20 stitches and 29 rows = 4” (10 cm) in textured pattern on middle-size needles
Note from Folk Style: In Chart C, Rows 6 and 8 are deliberately not the same. There are extra purple sts in Row 6 that do no appear in Row 8, so the main purple motif resembles a letter M.
