Bolten bodice flatters many body types with flexibility in sizing and styling. Seamless modular construction of richly textured panels features raised-chain joins. Vertical ribbing meets horizontal, resulting in form-fitting fabric that curves with you. Have fun with the closures: harvest from a hardware shop, place as you wish, tighten to taste. Shown here with knurled bolts and wing nuts in brass. For a less industrial look, substitute joint pairs of shank buttons or other closures, such as tuxedo shirt studs. Pattern includes directions for adjusting length as you work top down. Bodice is very stretchy, so tight lacers should select a smaller size. For a more relaxed vest-like fit, select finished dimension closer to your body measurements.
