Bookmark "Pink Flowers"
A bookmark that is easier to make than you might think at first glance (but for an intermediate level anyway). The stitches used are the classic ones (sc, dc…).
The flower was adapted from a 1920’s shirt collar design. The border is a design that, in addition to looking good, serves to make the sides of the bookmark straight and stiffer.
This bookmark has been made in two shades of pink for a bright, spring-like look, but it also looks great in a solid color. It is essential to “block” the bookmark once finished and moisten it to give it a perfect shape.
The work here is in #10 cotton but can also be made with #20 cotton for a more lacy look. If you don’t want to buy several whole balls, you can buy skeins of embroidery thread of equivalent thickness (n°10 cotton).
The PDF tutorial includes a main diagram and 6 detail diagrams as well as a step-by-step explanation with 43 photos.
