This beautiful capelet/cowl is both cozy and fashionable. It can be worn under a jacket or a coat or as the outer layer to add to the overall look. It is worked like the yoke of a sweater.

The border is done first in a beautiful leaf pattern. Chart is provided.

Later, stitches are picked up on the slip-stitch edge of the border for working in the round.

A stripe of Floral Lace adorns the lower part of the cowl. Written instructions are provided for this part.

The main pattern is Stockinette. Working toward the neckline, the cowl is shaped using traditional decreases, and a gentle cascading front cowl collar is shaped using the German short-row technique and change of needle size to finish the look.

You can play with the front neck cowl by folding it a few times or straightening it out.
