Bouncy Dress
Bouncy Dress is a simple baby dress designed to show off self-patterning or variegated yarn. It is worked in a combination of flat and circular knitting. Techniques used include provisional cast on, short rows, kitchener stitch, picking up stitches, and decreasing. Directions for these are NOT included in the pattern.
Yarn: You will need approximately 280 (330, 380) yards of a sport-weight wool with some stretch for best results.
Supplies:
- US size 8 24” circular needle
- 4 US size 8 dpns
- 4 stitch markers
- at least 2 stitch holders or waste yarn
- tapestry needle
Sizing: Directions are given for 3 months (6 months, 12 months). See schematic at the end of the pattern for exact measurements. The dress will have approximately 1” negative ease in the bodice, and a very loose skirt.
