Bowen shawl
Enjoy my new Bowen shawl pattern. Do me a favor and add the pattern to your faves, I would appreciate that and wish you happy knitting.
If you want to knit yours with the same type of yarn I used here but perhaps in a different color combo, you’ll find the knit kits HERE and if you’re wondering about the sweater I am wearing under my shawl, it’s called Idris
An Updated PDF was published on 10/8/25 at 2PM. The Bottom Border Increase portions had Row 4 missing.
The comfy, big but understated Bowen shawl is a really lovely knit. Simply fabulous, I say. It is knitted mostly in relaxing garter stitches except for the bottom border which is done with a simple knit and purl stitch pattern and an interesting way to increase. There is not only a lovely color contrast but also a welcomed break in textures. The shape is a lovely oversized crescent and who doesn’t like a crescent shaped shawl, right?
My unblocked shawl as shown measures 99” in length and 17.5” in middle height. The pattern is entirely written for your knitting pleasure.
