Brackett’s Landing Socks

When I think about where I knit, the first place I think of is at the coffeeshop. However, I’ve designed 13 coffee inspired patterns and I’m not sure that I have another one in me. So then I thought about our new home in the Pacific Northwest (the Seattle area to be specific). I immediately fell in love with the beaches here. On numerous occasions, I’ve grabbed my current sock project, taken a walk to the beach, and sat and knit while people-watching.
This pattern is inspired by Brackett’s Landing which is a beach area in Edmonds, Washington. I snapped some pictures on one visit and was inspired by the driftwood and ocean waves. The back of the sock has a cable panel that reminds me of the driftwood. The front of the socks is ocean waves.
So grab your yarn and needles, and cast on your socks! Let’s spend some time at the beach. Happy Knitting!

These socks are knit using the magic loop method (although the purchaser could easily adapt it for two circulars or double points).
This pattern includes toe-up and cuff-down instructions.
The knitter needs to be comfortable with the following techniques: knit, purl, knit through the back loop (ktbl), knit two together (k2tog), M1L, M1R, slipped stitches, slip slip knit (ssk), cables, and wrap and turns (W+T). Instructions for all these techniques are included in the pattern. In addition, a video tutorial for the shadow wrap technique of W+T for short rows has been recorded by the designer.
This pattern includes instructions in both written and chart forms for 56 stitch, 64 stitch, and 72 stitch socks.
Huge thanks to my amazing test knitters: Andrea (angeiship), Elizabeth (Elizabethsuthy), Jayne (Jcstormy), Jennifer (Initsox2), Julia (4jewels4), Kirsi (KirsiS), & Päivi (kaisukka)! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Pattern was tech edited by the phenomenal Rachel (porpoise)! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
