Designed especially for the Thanksgiving season, my new collection, With the Grain, was inspired by the grassy grains harvested to provide food worldwide. Many civilizations have relied on wheat, rye, and barley for their survival, and these three shawls were created to honor those folks working in fields to bring us these essential food sources.

Braided Rye
An asymmetrical triangle shawl worked sideways from the right tip. With plenty of garter stitch to balance the project, the prominent border showcases a large vine cable.

This design is intended to use up your yarn, and is suitable for any yarn weight up to aran. Please note that the border is worked only from charts.

Materials used for sample (weighs 196g):
Cloudborn Highland Sock Twist:
4 skeins Stone Heather

Acknowledgements:
The cabled border contains elements from a stitch pattern found in the Knitting Stitch Bible by Hitomi Shida.

Pattern is written in American terminology.
