While designing and shaping this scarf, I have taken into consideration the unique and innate property of the lateral braid. The scarf is knit as one piece from the right edge to the left edge as bands of Lateral Braids knit in one color alternating with bands of Stockinette Braids worked in another color. Each band transitions into the next with a row of Lateral Braids worked in two colors. The two halves of the scarf each have 5 bands. The right half is worked using MC, CC1 and CC2 in that order. The right half then transitions into the left half in MC and then is worked using CC2, CC1 and MC.
