Brambling Socks
Some sweet socks for bumbling around the bush featuring a subtly scalloped edge followed by a little scene from nature :)
Toe has a surprise ending! Designed for Hinterland Mica.
This pattern uses charts. For intermediate level knitters, with experience knitting lace by following charts.
SIZES
1 (2, 3)
Finished Leg circumference: 18.5 (21.5, 25) cm / 7¼ (8½, 9¾) inches
MATERIALS
Yarn: A heavier Fingering weight or Sport weight yarn.
Please note that the recommended yarn is not a “typical” fingering weight. If using regular sock yarn, you may have to go up in needle size. I suggest picking a yarn that is closer to a sport weight in order to achieve gauge.
Recommended Yarn: 1 skein of Hinterland Mica, 100% North Country Cheviot Wool, 365 m (400 yds) / 112g
NEEDLES
2.5 mm / US 1.5 Double pointed needles (DPNs) set of 5
GAUGE
26 sts x 40 rounds per 10 cm / 4 inches, in Stockinette Stitch in the round, after blocking. Adjust needle size to obtain correct gauge.
Important Pattern Notes
In order to achieve the sizes stated in the pattern, it is imperative to achieve the gauge (most importantly the stitch gauge) given above. For a sock knitted with 2.5 mm / US 1.5 needles, the gauge is quite atypical and this is because of the unique characteristics of the recommended yarn. Please thoroughly check gauge before beginning and adjust needle size as necessary to get gauge, especially if using a yarn other than the recommended yarn. It is recommended to work gauge swatch in the round for the most accuracy.
