This is the vest I have been dreaming of for years.
It has great fit, mesmerizing streams of cables, and tilted front edges. The tunic-length style has steep V-shaped dips at each side as well as a less steep V-shape dip at center back.

Although it looks complicated, this vest is a wonderfully easy knit, and one of those projects that makes you feel like purring. The pattern includes a tiny tutorial vest so you will know your way around the pattern before every starting it. The cables are simple and methodical. The vest can be worn closed with a shawl pin or open, with the fronts folded back (they are reversible), or you can let it swirl with you as you move.

The four photos show the same tunic-length vest on two women and a young girl. (the additional pieces around the next are all Tildes, also from the book.) This size suits such a wide range of people that most of my students who try it on decide to stay with the basic size, although modifying it for a closer fit is very simple. There are lots of tips for refining the fit and playing with style. The final photo shows the schematics for all three styles, as well as small inset photos of the difference between the three styles.

If you knit your vest with Frog Tree Ewetopia, or a good substitute (substitution test: 10” should stretch to about 11.5”), and match my gauge, you are likely to love wearing the basic size.
