CONSTRUCTION NOTES
This garment is worked seamlessly in the round from the top down.
Directions for the Icelandic Bind Off, Jeny’s Surprisingly Stretchy Bind Off, Knitted Cast On and Short Row Shaping Using Wrap And Turn Method, as well as other useful information, can be found in the Special Techniques section.
The back and the front of the garment are worked separately from the CO edge to the underarms.
Shoulder shaping is worked in garter stitch on the back and the front of the garment using short rows at the same time as neck shaping is worked on the front of the garment.
Armhole shaping takes place while stitch pattern is worked.
The back and front of the garment are joined together in the round for the lower body of the garment to be worked in stockinette stitch.
Waist shaping is worked at the sides of the lower body of the garment.
Gradient stripes are worked after waist shaping is complete.
Split hems are worked flat in garter stitch and then bound off using Icelandic Bind Off Method.
Stitches are picked up around armhole edges and worked flat in stockinette stitch using short rows.
Three-quarter sleeves are tapered from upper arm to forearm.
Stitches are picked up around neck opening for neckband and then bound off using Jeny’s Surprisingly Stretchy Bind Off Method.
1x1 Ribbing is always worked using the smaller needles.
