I love cables, the more the better, and I love pretzels, or rather Bretzeln (in German). Somehow the big cable that runs down these socks remind me of a delicious string of pretzels, so I named the sock for them.

The socks are worked from the top down. The cables are started immediately on the leg, so there is no actual cuff on these socks. On the heel and towards the toe, some of the cables transform smoothly into stockinet stitch, which is more comfortable in these areas. A set of small cables is continued both on the heel and down to the toes.

Directions for all the cables are given both in chart and in written form.
