Brevis
This pattern is part of Clare Devine’s sock knitting series, Sock Anatomy: Dissecting Heels and Toes. It is available as a single pattern or part of the e-book.
Brevis
Nothing hugs your feet quite like a pair of ribbed socks. Brevis uses twisted ribbing to give this simple sock a beautifully structured look. The heel is constructed with a heel flap and turned using a German or band heel turn. These are great unisex socks, and perfect for the whole family.

Pattern notes
The ribbed sections of this sock are knitted in twisted rib. To create twisted rib, always work the knit stitch through the back loop. Purl stitches are worked as normal.
The twisted rib section continues onto the top of the foot; the sole is worked in stocking stitch.
I would recommend using a very stretchy cast on for this sock to take advantage of the stretchy qualities of the ribbing. My preferred method is the German Twisted Cast On, as it produces a beautiful, stretchy but structured edge.
