PATTERN NOTES
The Brindister slipover is knitted in the round from the bottom up. The armholes and neck opening are steeked and these are cut prior to the armhole and neck edgings being knitted. As this is a Fair Isle “allover” design (ie there is no plain knitting) then you will need to ensure that you are keeping the Fair Isle pattern correct as you increase and decrease parts of the garment.
The slipover features a vertical Fair Isle motif – a large Shetland “star” inside a diamond at centre front. The slipover will be 47.5-50.5cm (18.75-20 inches) in length if 3 vertical diamonds are knitted. If you would like a longer slipover then you can knit 4 diamonds, which will give you longer length of between 55.5-58.5cm (22-23 inches).
If you decide to knit the longer length version then you will have to increase your yarn requirements accordingly. The back of the garment features a centre “track” motif and the rest of the garment is made up of small diamond motifs.
