The Brioche Buddies shawl is an exciting collaboration between Nancy Marchant and Stephen West. Together they have designed a shawl featuring alternating brioche, garter and knit ‘n’ slide sections.

SIZE
Medium(Large). 

The shawl comes in two different sizes. Nancy’s version (red) is medium size and Stephen’s version (blue) is large.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Medium Size
Length: 75” / 190.5 cm.
Width: 18” / 46 cm.

Large Size

Length: 104” / 264 cm.
Width: 22” / 56 cm.

MATERIALS
Nancy’s Yarn:
7 balls of Ulysse by De Rerum Natura (100% wool, 202 yds / 185 m – 50 g): 4 balls of colourway Poivre et Sel and 3 balls of colourway Fauve.

Stephen’s Yarn:
2 skeins of High Twist BFL by Qing Fibre (100% Blue Faced Leicester, 399 yds / 365 m – 100 g), colourway Okinami (MC).
4 skeins of Melted Baby Suri by Qing Fibre (65% Alpaca, 20% Wool, 15% Silk, 191 yds / 175 m – 50 g), 1 skein each in Smoke, Sage, Slate, Sponge (CC).

YARDAGE
Medium Size
MC – 680 yds / 622 m.
CC – 606 yds / 555 m.

Large Size
MC – 660 yds / 604 m.
CC – 580 yds / 530 m total. The first and last CC’s require approximately 170 yds / 155 m each. The middle two CC’s require approx. 120 yds / 110 m each.

Needles: US 5 / 3.75 mm 32” / 80 cm (or longer) circular needle or DPNs.

Notions: Stitch markers.

GAUGE
20 sts and 42 rows to 4” / 10 cm in garter stitch, after blocking.



Gauge is not critical but it will influence the size of your finished wrap and your yardage. If in doubt and to make sure you don’t run out of yarn, work at a slightly tighter gauge.
