Buddy
Buddy is a good companion for colder days or whenever you need some cozy and uncomplicated buddy. Buddy consists of a hat and a matching cowl.
The majority of Buddy is worked in purled stitches. The stitch pattern is made of simple double wrapped stitches, slipped stitches and 2 stitch cables. After some practice, you will master the technique smoothly.
You can work Buddy one colored, using one strand of a 5ply/sport yarn. As an alternative, you can use 2 strands of a fingering weight yarn in even different colors, holding 2 strands together throughout. For the 2 colored version, part of the pattern is done with 2 strands of one color only, for example: working rounds with double wrapped sts with 2 strands of contrasting color OR working purled rounds with 2 strands of different colors and rounds with double wrapped sts with 2 strands of one color etc. - play with the yarn and the stitch pattern to find out what looks best for you.
The pattern also includes instructions for a cowl and you are very welcome to have a go at either one.
