Bunny Tail
From the pattern:
Babies in hats with ears are the best. I have made hats with ears added in after the hat is knit, but I wanted to design a pattern with the ears knit right on. So I came up with Bunny Tail. I always add a tiny pom on the back of the hat for the bunny tail. When this hat is knit in brown with shorter ears, it resembles a baby bear -- with no bunny tail, of course.
