Bunnyclava is a balaclava worked in the round from the bottom up. The mouth covering (which can also be tucked under the chin) is shaped with short rows, and paired increases and decreases over the forehead shape the eyehole for maximum coverage. The ears are picked up and knitted after the rest of the hat is complete.

Yarn: You will need approximately 200 yards of a soft worsted- or aran-weight wool for best results. (Pictured: Malabrigo Worsted in Orchid – aran, 1 skein / 100g / 210 yards, 100% merino)

Supplies:

  • One US size 8 16” circular needle
  • Four US size 8 double-pointed needles
  • tapestry needle

Sizing: Finished hat will measure approximately 17.75” in circumference when laid flat, and will fit most children aged 1-3 years.
