Burning Flame Shawl
Burning Flame is a free shawl pattern intended to spark the fire of your imagination.
Two skeins of a gradient of your choice at least 900 yds total. If you choose to use different colors instead of a gradient, you still want at least 900 yds.
The primary sample ended up being 96” across the top, 160” across the bottom and 22” deep at center point not including the picot.
The pattern is highly expandable.
Pattern Premise:
Since it was discovered fire has fascinated man and animal alike. It helps protect and provide for families. It helps warm the cold. It sparks the imagination in many.
Since I discovered the hexagon stitch pattern last year, I have been struck by how the stitch pattern looks like little individual flames, each one a part of the whole like the flicker of a flame.
Fire is made up of many colors depending on what is burning. Blue has always been my favorite flame and it burns the brightest. When I was a member of the Western Pyrotechnic Association, we used different chemicals to make up the different colors of the fireworks we were building.
We were encouraged to use our imagination to come up with different combinations. With this design, the yarn and its colors are your components.
I cannot wait to see how you use it to bring to life the colors that spark the fire of imagination and passion in your world.
