“You don’t have to take my word for it…”
--LeVar Burton
I loved Reading Rainbow as a child. I love it as an adult. I have the Skybrary app on my tablet, and I listen to just about any audio book, LeVar Burton narrates. I am a fan.

So, although you can, and should, use whatever colors you like, in creating the stripey section of this pattern, these right here… these are the “Rainbow Reading” gloves.

Skill-level: Adventurous beginner—Intermediate: the gloves are basic with a simple slip-stitch pattern, but do include construction in the round, with a thumb gusset, and some color changing.
Materials: Approximately 200 yards (180m) of a main color, and minor scraps of approximately 10-12 yards (9 m) in fingering weight yarn. The gloves pictured are a size L and used approximately 175 yards of Louet Gems Fingering in the color Pewter, and a variety of rainbow colored remnants.
Needles: US1 (2.25mm) either circular (with a long cord for magic loop) or DPNs
Tools: Tape measure, stitch holder (or safety pins or spare yarn), two stitch markers tapestry needle, scissors.
Gauge: 8 stitches and 12 rounds per inch or 2.5cm worked as in-the-round stockinette stitch.
Sizing: Small(Medium, Large, Extra-large) sizes measure approximately 6 (6.5, 7, 7.5) inches or 15.25(16.5,17.75,19) cm in circumference, length is adjustable.
