One of the brightest wildflowers along the Pacific coast is the little buttercup. The simple lace flowers scattered across this reversible garter stitch triangle remind me of those blossoms and give the shawl a vintage charm.

It begins at the bottom point, and the easy-to-memorize lace repeats every 10 rows. Since the ending can be started after any repeat, it is simple to customize the size. An eyelet border and elastic cast-off create a wider top edge for a versatile fit.

Designed for lace yarns, it also can be knit in a variety of fingering and Shetland/sport/DK weights.

Sample Shawl
100 g (450 yds/410 m) Brooklyn Tweed Vale lace yarn (21 wpi) in Klimt color on US size 3 (3.25 mm) needles. Shawl measures 22 x 54” (56 x 137 cm).

Yarn
Since it is easy to customize the size of this shawl, it can be knit with a variety of lace, fingering, and Shetland/sport/DK yarns.
