These socks are knitted from the cuff down, with a short colourwork section on the leg (there are a few rounds which use 3 colours) followed by blue and white stripes running the length of the foot. Sharply contrasting cuff, heel and toes make these spring socks really pop!

They are made with a heel flap and gusset and Kitchener stitch to graft the toe - there is a tutorial for this step on my YouTube Channel if you need it.

The pattern is written for 3 sizes, small (UK 5-6), medium (UK 6-7) and large (UK 7-8), but is very easily customizable to fit your own foot. As you’re knitting from the cuff down, you can slip your work over your foot to check the fit of the leg, heel and foot as you go.

Suitable for confident knitters with experience of knitting stranded colourwork and knitting in the round.

I’ve used Drops Nord yarn to knit these socks, it’s lovely to work with and very reasonably priced as well as easy to get hold of in balls of 50g. You will need 50g/205mtrs of the pink, approx. 25g/100mtrs of the blue and green and small amounts of white, black and yellow for the bees.

Any 4 ply sock yarn will do, however, the gauge I’ve worked to is 32 stitches to 36 rows using 2.5mm double pointed needles - you can use a circular needle and the magic loop method if you prefer, but bear in mind that the pattern is written assuming you’re using DPNs.

I have tried to make this pattern as user friendly as possible, but will provide you with my email address when you download the pattern, if you have any issues at all, do get in touch and I will be happy to help.

Thanks for taking the time to look at my listing, if you have any questions before purchasing, do get in touch.

Happy Knitting! x
