This Cable and Bobble Stitch Blanket is chunky and cheerful.

Because you are using 3 strands of double knit yarn at the same time, the blanket grows very quickly. It is therefore the perfect project for an Advanced Beginner who wants something a bit more complicated than a single crochet blanket, but doesn’t want to spend months (or even weeks) on it.

Before you start the blanket, you will need to know:

  • How to make foundationless double crochet stitches
  • How to make treble crochet stitches
  • How to make front- and back posts stitches

On my site you will find links to video tutorials for the above, as well as a link to the video tutorial for the actual blanket.

You will also find a printable colour chart, should you wish to replicate the colours I used.

This blanket EATS yarn. You will need about 900 g of double knit yarn for a blanket measuring 80 cm x 90 cm (31.5” x 35.5”).

I used the “Attic 24 Yarn Pack” and love the yarn for both it’s affordability and quality.

You are, of course, more than welcome to make a more dainty version using a smaller hook and only one strand of double knit yarn. You’ll just have to remember to add more repeats.
