From the pattern description:

Ribbed cables, seed (moss) stitch patterns and slipped stitches are combined to create an embossed effect. The stitch definition is enhanced by the soft, stretchy cotton yarn that has been used to knit up this design. The addition of delicately colored rosebuds embroidered onto the knitting softens the regimented pattern repeat and adds extra interest. The bolster ends are intriguing to knit, using the technique of short-row shaping to make circular panels.
