This is a traditional Christmas stocking, knit on short circular needles, but you can modify it for DPN’s. The directions include charts and written instructions for worsted weight yarn, but it could be modified for other weights by using different size needles to fit your yarn. It’s an easy pattern, with 3 cables that intertwine, twisted stitches on either side, and a pattern repeat that makes the pattern look more complex.
It’s also a quick knit that can be completed in a weekend, if you can cuddle in front of the fire and knit!

You can also knit the cuff and toe in contrasting colors, if you choose.
