A big fan of cables, Pam Allen loves the way they lend themselves to tweaking—by varying the background they lay against or by varying the pattern in the crossing stitches. For this cowl, Pam positioned wavy lines of elongated slip stitches against a rustic garter-stitch background to produce a completely reversible fabric. While this cowl is interesting to work from the provisional cast-on to the three-needle bind-off, it isn’t tricky and it doesn’t demand a lot of attention, which, says Pam, is the best kind of knitting!
